At Aeres, education, research and entrepreneurship come together. We are the only green knowledge institution in the Netherlands that offers education, practice-oriented research and commercial knowledge-intensive services at all levels: from practical education, pre-vocational secondary vocational education (VMBO), senior secondary vocational education (MBO) and higher vocational education (HBO), to training for professionals and assistance with personnel issues. The Aeres institutions each have an individual approach and character that suits their field of activity.
Aeres and Nordwin College join forces for green education of the highest quality
June 2020 Aeres and Nordwin College joined forces linking the Northern and Central Netherlands regions for a single strong education and knowledge organisation in the green sector. Bundling their capacity creates a powerful organisation, focused on Agriculture, Food and Environment. Aeres and Nordwin College serving approximately 15,000 pupils and students and 17,000 course participants in the Northern and Central Netherlands and the total organisation employs more than 1,900 people, spread over 20 locations.
As a result of the merger, Aeres and Nordwin College now come together under a single Board of Directors and Supervisory Board. Both organisations will now carefully integrate their processes. After that, both organisations will form a single AOC by means of an institutional merger. The aim is for all educational locations to operate under one name: Aeres, as of the 2021/2022 academic year.
